September 2019 Goals

The goals for September 2019
We are entering our third month of side hustling and it is time we grow up a little bit. I have set goals for September 2019 in our four main areas: Social Media, Content, Voice-over, and T-shirts. I’ve also started to plan how I want to work toward these goals and I’m sharing them with you today.
Social Media Growth
Social media is the main marketing force for all we do on From the Attic, so it only makes sense to set goals to increase our followers. That sounds great, but how are we going to gain more followers?
There are two different ways I will attempt to grow our following. The first method I will use is more of an experiment based on my own habits.
Whe I get followers, typically I follow those accounts back. It is the way I have always approached social media. Something inside me tells me that I’m probably not the only person that treats followers this way. I would be willing to bet that most people watching this video, or reading this post do the same thing.
My theory is that if I can follow five to ten new accounts every day, some of those people will follow me back. Even if it is only a simple majority of accounts, It is incredibly possible for me to meet my social media growth goals.
My theory does not account for the quality of these followers. What I really mean is are these accounts of a similar nature and will we mutually benefit? I hypothesize that regardless of their niche, the lesson we can gain from each other will still apply. We are all hustlers in some shape or form.
Will it work? Time will tell, but I will be sure to update you as we continue through the month of September.
Content Creation and Expansion
I’ve talked about how I plan to shift content to move video moving forward, and my goals for September continue that path. I want to add more content, but also make content that also benefits the other side hustles, not just the blog.
I’m running a few ideas around in my head, but I would expect a new segment before the end of this month on vocal exercises and if they help make me a better voice-over artist
I have a similar idea for apparel that may not launch in September but it would centered around designing shirt and hoodie graphics, while also discussing topics that either I choose, or you choose.
And are sock puppets still cool? Where sock puppets ever cool? Frankly, I don’t care and want very badly to do a series of shorts with a sock puppet. More on that idea later.
Voice-Over Goals
This topic is the main reason I started From the Attic, but not until recently had I actually made any forward progress. This month, it is time to be an adult about the voice-over side hustle and treat “gigs” like actual jobs.
My goal this month is to create a professional resume, create a polished promo video, start work on a voice-over section of the blog to serve as a portfolio, and ultimately land one voice-over job.
These may not seem like goals designed to push anyone to success, but you must put them in context. There have been zero voice-over jobs, there is no resume, and the “promo” videos are just snippets of my vlogs.
Apparel Goals
I’m calling these goals Apparel goals because this month one of my targets is to start offering hoodies, just in time for the fall and winter season. That being said, I am aiming for 3 new designs, better marketing via social media and a staggering ten total sales.
Using August as a benchmark, these are indeed lofty goals. We made no sales, no new design and next to no effort marketing what we have. It is time to step it up and make apparel and actual side hustle, not just something we talk about.
Watch the video above to learn more about my Septemeber 2019 goals. You can join me each Sunday for Vlog Sunday to find out how well we do.
Do you have any goals for your side hustles? If so, how do you decide what those goals should be? Let me know in the comments below.
